The earlier version of this article did not put it that way. It presented several places to buy as neutral options and then published a discount code for one of them. This version does not, and the guidance below is the part that was worth keeping.
Why this matters more for supplements than for most things
Weight-loss products are among the most counterfeited categories sold online, for the obvious reason: high demand, high margin, and a customer who often cannot tell the difference.
With a counterfeit phone charger you find out quickly. With a supplement you may never find out at all. You take something for eight weeks, nothing happens, and you conclude the product does not work. The failure mode is silent, which is exactly what makes it worth ten minutes of attention up front.
There is a second problem that is more common than outright fakes: genuine product that has been sitting somewhere for two years. Marketplace sellers buy closeout stock, and nothing about the listing tells you how old it is.

Three things, and they are concrete rather than reassuring noises:

What to check on arrival

- A tamper-evident seal, intact. - An expiration date printed on the packaging, not a sticker. A listing offering one bottle as "Slenderiiz" is selling you half a product, and sometimes that is a repackaging rather than a fake. - Manufacturer information and a full ingredient list, legible and matching what you were shown. - Batch or lot number. This is the one people skip. It is what makes a recall or a complaint traceable.
Where we would not buy it
Marketplace listings from sellers you cannot identify, on any platform. The issue is not the platform, it is that the seller is often three steps removed from the manufacturer and nobody in that chain is accountable for storage, age or authenticity.
If a price is far below everything else, that is information rather than a bargain.
